Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Of The Year Award

We are accepting nominations for 2026 Young Engineer of the Year.

The 2026 winner will be announced at the E-Week Banquet on February 25th, 2026.

Every year the Fort Worth ASCE branch recognizes a young engineer who has made outstanding contributions to the civil engineering profession and their community during the early years of their career.

The Fort Worth Branch is now accepting nominations for this year’s young engineer. Nominations will be received until Friday, January 30, 2026. The nomination and application form can be found at the link below.

Nominees must be:

  • 35 years of age or younger as of February 1, 2026

  • a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) or engineer-in-training (E.I.T.)

  • a REGISTERED member of ASCE Fort Worth Branch

After receiving nominations, the Awards Committee will select a recipient based on the following evaluation criteria:

1. Involvement in ASCE (National, State and Chapter levels) - 40%

List offices held, committee assignments, and awards at each level

2. Engineering Achievements - 30%

Include current position (title, company, or institution), responsibilities, and achievements.

3. Civic and Humanitarian Activities - 15%

List contributions to public service outside of their professional career.

4. Educational and Collegiate Achievements - 15%

Include undergraduate and advanced degrees, honorary societies (give society and office held), scholastic awards,

organizations (give name of organization and office held), and other activities.
